Pre-Gathering Prayer

The world has always been full of uncertainty and this feeling is intensified in the face of a global pandemic. Our response to this feeling has often been to look out for ourselves or to remedy our emotional and mental spiralling with escapist behaviours like binge watching TV or living more in the future than in the present. But God’s invitation for us during times of uncertainty is to trust in Him. That’s always easier said than done and God never expects us to be able to trust more simply by trying harder. Rather, we learn to trust when we make time to commune with the one who is trustworthy. Communing with God is done through prayer.

For the foreseeable future, starting at 9:30am on Sunday mornings we will meet together to pray on Zoom. For the first 5 minutes we will individually engage with a prayer station, a moment of specified prayer focused on a particular theme and prompt. During the final 10/15 minutes, we’ll go into smaller breakout groups and pray for one another as we reflect on where we feel God is moving or what he’s teaching us in our lives and then also for any challenges and struggles we may have and may even been recently intensified.

We invite you to join us this Sunday as we pray together!
