Meet our New Team Members
We're excited to welcome Christie Santschi to the Soul Sanctuary team as our Volunteer Discipleship Group Assistant. In this volunteer role, Christie will be working alongside Mike Mundey, our Discipleship Director, to facilitate and oversee both Women's and Men's Discipleship Groups. Over the last three years Christie has worked diligently to develop and provide leadership to our Women's Discipleship Groups, along with serving in a variety of capacities here at Soul. Christie has a deep passion for Christian discipleship and we’re excited to see her put her gifts to use as she works towards the strengthening of our Discipleship Groups. Christie has been married to her husband Chris for over 20 years, and together they have four children. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Ministry Leadership.
We’re excited to welcome Alexey Pankov to the Soul Sanctuary community as our Associate Pastor of Ukrainian/Slavic Ministries. Alexey has been a long-term mission partner of Soul Sanctuary, serving as a Pastor and community worker for over 10 years in Altai, Russia. After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Alexey left Russia to serve the needs of Ukrainian orphans who were displaced in Turkey. From Turkey, Alexey came to Canada at the invitation of Pastor Gerry to serve the growing need of Soul Sanctuary's Ukrainian community. Alexey joins the church staff with a focus on welcoming newcomers and providing opportunities for ethnic Ukrainians to integrate into the everyday life of the church. Alexey is married to his wife Tonia and have two adopted sons and a grandson.
We’re excited to welcome Tonia Pankov to the Soul Sanctuary community as our Volunteer Newcomer Ministry Associate. Tonia has been a long-term mission partner of Soul Sanctuary, serving as a Pastor and community worker for over 10 years in Altai, Russia. After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Tonia left Russia to serve the needs of Ukrainian orphans who were displaced in Turkey. From Turkey, Tonia came to Canada at the invitation of Pastor Gerry to serve the growing need of Soul Sanctuary's newcomer community. Tonia is employed by the Global Missions division of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada and is coordinating English language instruction for people from all backgrounds at Soul Sanctuary and in other local churches. Tonia is married to her husband Alexey, and together they have two adopted sons and a grandson.
