Supporting Displaced Ukrainian Children in Turkey

Last month Dr. Gordon Giesbrecht took a trip to Turkey to visit our missions partners Tonia and Alexey Pankov. Dr. Giesbrecht, who operates the Laboratory for Exercise and Environmental Medicine at the University of Manitoba, went over with a simple mission: to introduce North American sports to Russian speaking Ukrainian children in Turkey.

Tonia and Alexey Pankov are pastors with the Russian Assemblies of God and left Russia under threat shortly after the invasion of Ukraine. Tonia and Alexey ended up in Turkey where they began ministering to Russian speaking Ukrainian children who were displaced due to the war.
