Action: Ukraine

We are greatly thankful that many in the Soul Sanctuary community have responded to this week’s call to pray for the crisis in Ukraine. Your concern and outpouring of support has been greatly appreciated by the Ukrainian Assemblies of God. The situation in Ukraine has been rapidly changing and escalating each day. Throughout the past few days we have been in regular contact with our long term-partners, Pastor Serhiy and Katherine of the Ukrainian Assemblies of God. In these conversations we have worked alongside them to assess their greatest needs at this time. Here’s how you can help this coming week:

1. Give

Serhiy and other local UAOG pastors in western Ukraine have turned their churches into temporary refugee centres as many Ukrainians are travelling to the western half of the country. Their immediate need is for blankets, bedding and food. Their plan is to continuously help refugees move from western Ukraine into neighbouring countries that are accepting Ukrainians. The church intends to serve refugees by paying for transportation, gas and any other expenses necessary to relocate. By supporting the efforts of the Ukrainian Assemblies of God you will be providing emergency care to those who have been displaced from their homes.

100% of your donation will be sent to Ukraine and donations of $20 or over will be issued tax receipts.

2. Pray

We call on the Soul Sanctuary community to continue to pray for our friends in Ukraine and for a quick resolution to this war. We invite you to join us as we pray corporately this Wednesday, March 2 from 7:00am-7:45am and every Wednesday throughout the Lenten season.
