About

I will make a covenant of peace with them; It will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers and I will put my sanctuary among them forever. My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people. (Ezekiel 37:26-27)

Soul Sanctuary is a vision for a new church in the city of Winnipeg. It is a vision that was birthed in Gerry’s Michalski’s heart while he determined where God was leading him in ministry and as he evaluated not just his own life but also the effectiveness of churches in the City of Winnipeg.

  • Have you ever wished that there was a community where you could just call your own?
  • A place where youwould feel comfortable in bringing people who have no religious background?
  • A church community that is relevant to you?

Here at Soul you will experience just that; A closeness to God unlike anything you have ever felt before with meaningful life lessons and worship through song, the creative arts and much much more… All this in a relaxed atmosphere complete with multimedia, creative arts and some really cool guitar riffs.

Our team understood that this would be an uncommon church and we did not want a common name. As we continued to wrestle and pray for what God might have in store for our vision and mission, we wanted a name that would speak to a generation that has been called by many sociologists and futurists “the most spiritually seeking generation” of human history. This is an inquiring generation.

This is a questioning generation.
This is a generation on a quest for truth.

God placed upon our hearts the desire to be architects that would build a community where people might come on their journey and quest for the Truth in God. Sanctuary (which means ‘a place for worship and a place of refuge and protection.’) is the expression of our vision and dream to plant a church where both the churched and unchurched can gather, where Truth will be sought, where creativity and innovation will be fostered, where sharing the love of Christ will be our great cause, where diversity and multi-ethnicity will be embraced, where authenticity will be pursued, and where the love and grace of Christ will be experienced.
